Bio
Juniper & the Long Drive are a four-piece rock band from Salt Lake City. Their second album, Mile Markers, was recorded live in six days in a converted church in Ogden. They have played more than 300 shows since 2019, most of them within a day's drive of a desert.
Juniper & the Long Drive formed in 2019 when singer Juniper Hale answered a practice-room flyer from guitarist Cass Moreno. Bassist Ollie Brandt and drummer Dee Ramos joined within the month, and the band played its first show in a laundromat in Provo.
Since then they have logged more than 300 shows and 41,000 miles in a 2008 van named Marjorie. Their debut, Salt Roads, sold out two vinyl pressings through the merch table alone.
Mile Markers, out October 24, 2026, was cut live to tape in six days in a converted church in Ogden with the doors open, so a freight train can be heard at the end of track four. It is a record about distance, the kind you drive and the kind you feel, and it is the loudest thing they have made.
What people wrote
"The rare band that sounds bigger in a room of forty people than on the record."
High Plains Review
"Hale sings like the last person awake in the van, which is probably true."
Northbound Radio
"Motel Pool in October is the best song about a swimming pool you will hear this year."
